Employees Provident Fund Organisation of India (EPFO) has laid down new guidelines for modification of profile in PF account. These changes help optimize the flow of updating and rectifying the details of the members.
New SOP for Personal Details Update
EPFO has rolled out the SOP Version 3. 0 for changing something as simple as names or dates of birth of the employees. One of the requirements of this guideline is the use of specific documents for changing the UAN profile with the organization. Resistance management is therefore made easier through following new rules which have enhanced the process.
Types of Changes and Documents Needed
Minimizing is done while maximizing is done under major alteration Of course, according to the new guideline, alteration is divided into two; minor and major. For minor updates, members have to submit at least two of the documents from a list that is provided to them.
Changes of that magnitude cannot be made in less than three documents. These rules give an assurance that all the changes are checked keenly so as to minimize on, mistakes and fraudulent activities.
Efficient Document Handling
Employees can now make changes through EPFO’s e-service portal by filling a form JB and documents. For changes which are pertaining to Aadhaar, the Aadhaar card or the active mobile number linked to the e-Aadhaar card is enough.
However, it is worth knowing that one can only update data related to the current employer’s EPF account. This fresh procedure is expected to enhance efficiency of the updating process and accuracy for more than 70 million EPFO members.
